The Guild of Gloom is hosting a little Carnival to benefit the Sophie Lancaster Foundation, and Hooligan Streetwear has the perfect outfit to wear while you’re out gallivanting at the Carnival Sinstre.

You have to love an outfit named simply “Ringmaster”, especially when it’s as eerily good as the one from Hooligan Streetwear.

Ringmaster includes all you see (hair, skin, and eyeballs not included, of course), from the awesome spiked boots, to the tophat perched just so at the top of your head. Not a bad deal for one low price. But the best part is that a portion of the proceeds goes to the Sophie Lancaster Foundation, and sometimes the ‘portion’ is a full 100% folks. That’s right! You can donate to a worthy cause and get a great outfit at the same time.

It's preview time! ikr like.. yay n stuff \o/ Today I have an awesome preview to show you from one of my favorite SL stores. ( home of the awesome Zombina skin *cough*) Beauty Killer is not only a store fulla awesome but a sponsor of the Guild of Gloom Carnival Sinister, and Kevinn has made some adorable things for the event!

Up first is the Carnival Girl outfit.. and I'm not kidding when I say outfit lol. This one comes with the dress, stockings, a sculpted tie and not one but two parasols to choose from. ( I love the skull! so cute <3) The umbrellas have a cute hold pose built into them ( not shown because I'm a posewhore like that lol)

Next are the adorable Starnival umbrellas. I love these! While you get 4 striped colors to choose from I of course has to choose pink to show you today lol. ( yus I know PINK BURN IT!!!! but I like pink, don't judge lol)

Like the carnival girl outfit umbrella you get 2 choices for each color so that makes a pack of 8 umbrellas total!

The Sophie Lancaster Foundation was created in memory of Sophie Lancaster, who was murdered in an horrific attack on her and her partner Robert Maltby because they were 'Goths'.

The aims and objectives of the Charity are as follows:
To create a lasting legacy to Sophie.
To provide educational group-works that will challenge the prejudice and intolerance towards people from alternative subcultures.
To campaign to have the UK Hate Crime legislation extended to include people from “alternative subcultures” or “Lifestyle and Dress"
We felt that Sophie's charity was the perfect beneficiary for us, and this, and all future events by The Guild of Gloom will be held to help raise both funds and awareness for the Foundation.

Helloo Everyone!!

Ok, so.....

After a small haitus I am back in the world of SL if somewhat sporradically and briefly. My apologies to anyone whose events I was supposed to be in, to people whose notecards went unanswered and to people who just needed something Putrid in their lives and were disappointed, but it really couldn't be helped.

My mainstore has moved from Bad Blood. I am building the new mainstore today and making some horrible christmas things for everyone. I will be sending a new landmark out later. If any of you had issues that weren't dealt with in my absence, please contact me today, and we'll get everything sorted out for you asap

Ok my filth hounds of Hades..
So, due to them fucking up the installation of my net in my new house, I am waaay behind on everything. The second gift I promised for the Twisted Hunt, will now be delivered next Sunday, I'm trying to work out when my Hunt of the Living Dead prize will be available, I'm thinking actually that it will be available at Horrorfest if the HOTLD organizers are agreeable to this after my fervent apology.

But there is some cool and exciting news!!
Some of you may have heard that the Starlust sims are going through a major restructure, and part of that restructure is that I now own Floyd.
We will be holding Horrorfest there and after that, we will be building a new gloomy sim full of horrible awesome.
I will be taking vendors for this sim over the next few weeks, if you are interested in joining us, please send a notecard either to myself or Hallie Galli and we will get back to you asap.
I hope to be back to normal in time for Woeful Wednesday

The Duality of Life and Just Rewards

The people tried to convince Chief Raven that everyone should get two lives. But Raven (also the bird/manitou Raven) selfishly preferred that people and animals only get one life. This is because Raven is known to like eating the eyes of carrion. As Raven was chief and had spoken, the decision was accepted.
The people were upset, however, and decided to make Raven regret his decision. Raven's son was killed in an arranged arrow target-practice mishap. A tree was felled that struck and killed his daughter.
When this happened, Raven tried in vain to reverse his decision so that everybody would get two lives. But he was reminded, "You are the chief, and you've already spoken"

This is my TEMPORARY gift for the Twisted Hunt.
I've been unwell for a few days, also I'm moving house in rl and so I had to make a choice to either rush a gift out or pull out of the event.
Never one to do things the easy way, I decided on neither of those ideas, so here is what's going to happen.

Inside this gifts box is an updater. On the 30th of Sept I will be sending a second gift to everyone who has the updater, which will be the gift i had originally meant to have out in the first place. You MUST have the updater to receive the second gift, I will NOT be sending this out individually, nor will I send it out to anyone who has deleted their updater who IMs me. Sorry, this is the only way I can make sure no-one is cheating whilst other spend their valuable time actually hunting for the gift.

Horrorfest is a fortnight long horror themed event to be held the last two weeks in October showcasing all that is on the darkside of SL. It will feature all sorts of good stuff, a hunt, burlesque dancers, DJ events, and much much more

Two of our creative team were the organizers of the Zombiefest events which accumulatively raised 700,000L$ for charity and saw traffic of 50,000.

Horrorfest will be a little different. For one this event is not being run under the Hot For Zombies banner, HFZ is a purely charity based organisation and so we feel that we must make this distinction. Proceeds from Horrorfest for your items will for the most part go to you the vendor, however, something we do stipulate for participation is that you must have one exclusive item for a charity vendor, 100% of the proceeds from the sale of this item will go to our chosen charity. This item must have not been sold before and only available at Horrorfest for the duration of the event, after that you are free to do as you please with it.. Of course you are free to do this with as many items as you like, the more we can raise for charity the better.

We are hoping to have The Sophie Lancaster Foundation as our chosen beneficiary. This has not been confirmed as yet but we'll keep you up to date on that. If you would like to know more about this charity please visit their website

There will be no charge for you participating, but we would ask that you promote the event in your blogs and store groups, and help make this event the place to be in SL this Halloween.

The Lament of Lady Carnage

This tale I have to tell you, is horror filled but true

about a love daughter had, and what it made her do

Cursed Gloom was beautiful,

The darling of the show

They called her Lady Carnage

an honour they bestowed

she would swallow swords and razors

and the blood it freely flowed

And she performed it every night

at Carnaval Siniestro

Now Cursed was enticing

She held an audience entranced

as her flesh she started slicing

in the pools of blood, she danced

She danced the Danza Macabra

she stuck skewers through her skin

and when the dance was over

left no trace of where they'd been

Cursed had a lover, the owner of the show

His name was Profundo or 'The Great Magnifico'

They had a daughter, 10 years old

Her name was Putrid Gloom

and little did they know

that she would bring about her doom

Putrid loved her Mother, too much I've heard it said

This love it got all muddled up, in the mess of Putrids head

She never wanted to lose her, and decided to endeavor

To keep her Mother with her

Forever

and ever

and ever.......

They never found her body

and Profundo, filled with sadness

Was locked away in Shady Pines

a prisoner of madness

The locals say that Putrid, can occasionally be found

Dancing in a big old house, twirling round and round

With what looks to be a great big doll

With skin made out of leather

well, those who knew her simply called her Miss Macabre

she had a pet dragon fly as her companion, and they traveled through the land happily exploring the mystical gloom in all its splendor...

sailing through the winding paths of rock and and glistening walls of water...

resting to the peaceful sounds of bustling waterfalls...

and living in the peaceful gloom that surrounded them...

until one day, a strange mist rolled into the land, possessing the precious pet, and turning him into a monstrous beast!

Miss Macabre was last seen over the hills and forest of the former Gloomy Nation!

but... chatter among the remaining peaceful dragon flies suggest that she may be resurfacing soon...

did she escape the evil pet, or end up as his lunch?

Firstly the good news.
Alt Faire has started today over on the Pulse Cluster and these are my offerings :-

The Arlequin outfit is 0L$, however, I would ask that you give a donation to the donation kiosk that is under this vendor to benefit the 'Nothing but Nets' charity that the faire is supporting.

The Paintyface Skin is 100L$ and all proceeds from this will go to benefit Nothing but Nets also.

And now some bad news..

I have decided to sell all of my sims. So no more Slaughter City, Gloomyville, Gloomy Creek, or Little Horrid Hill.
Running four sims has really taken its toll on me from a stress point of view, I rarely get time to make anything anymore, which I feel is unfair to you guys who have loyally supported my store since I opened. That, coupled with the fact that I will soon be moving half way across the world and wont have time to commit to the full time job that running sims is has brought me to make this decision.
I would like to thank all of you for your support. I will be moving my store to our sister sim Nocturnum along with a few other people from Slaughter. I will be all wonderful and new and I promise lots of new Show Me on the Doll nastinesswill be on my dusty little shelves asap.

Hot for Zombies needs YOU!

Hot for Zombies are the organisers of the highly successful Zombiefest, where we raised just over 500,000L$ for The Red Cross to help with the relief effort during the Tsunamis of October 09. We had a week long festival with some of SLs best DJs and creators making contributions of their time and skills which culminated in a fabulous time for all and a fantastic amount of traffic.

In light of the recent tragic events in Haiti, we have decided to do it again.

My Bloody Valentine will run from the 5th February until the 19th. We need Vendors, DJs, Bloggers, Greeters, Dancers, spammers. Anything you think you can contribute, we want it. Even if it just amounts to you letting us rezz an LM giver on your land.

Valentines and gore is the theme

100% of all proceeds will go to The Red Cross for the Haitian relief effort.

We appreciate that this seems short notice, but acually, Zombiefest 09 was organized in the same timeframe and was AWESOME. I have included a notecard at the end of this note to be filled out and returned to either Putrid Gloom, Stein Shilova, Louhi Gothly, Gattina Dumpling or Horrid Twine if you wish to participate. you can also contact any of the aforementioned organizers with any questions you may have.

The sim is on its way already but the rewards for early birds include not only prime placement, but a cost savings too.

- Once the sim is place the price will be 18,000 Lindens per parcel buy-in.

- Each parcel is divided into a 4096 sqm, each parcel has 936 prims.

- With the buy-in you get full resale rights of the land

- Tier is 8000 lindens per parcel per month. For 4 or more parcels gets a discount of 1000 lindens per parcel (7000 per parcel tier)

- Straight rentals will be available through Gloomy Nation & NORSIM at 2500 lindens per week but this will be after placement of the sim and land purchasers have first pick.

The Zombie War

I have never wavered in my love of all things zombie. I’m not sure what it is about those freaky little bastards that gets to me. Maybe it’s their groan? Maybe it’s their lazy ass walk? Maybe it’s their grand metaphor that we’re all zombies inside? Dunno. Either way, they are still cool as fuck.

Dead Designs is starting to fill out it’s lovely shop at Slaughter City. I picked up the Brain Tree for my holiday cheer. If you click the brain dangling from the rope, it swings back and forth. Put on a little Bing Crosby and sit by your tree… honestly, what more could a zombie lover want for the holidays?!

The Brain Tree is priced at 250 linden and is primed to perfection. Alt Skinstad, owner of Dead Designs, really made this a great little package. He also offers some sneakers, clothing, accessories and even a SHOVEL. That’s right. For any of you classic gamer fans can remember, in the RPG Call of Cuthulu – a maglite does more damage than a gun. Same principal here. Shovels are a solid weaphon of choice in the Zombie war. :)
